Our Student Council held another meeting this week to discuss issues in the school from the students’ perspective. A list of issues were discussed at the meeting and will be brought forward to the school management for consideration. This is an important process in the school that allows students to have their say in how the school is run.

The ‘Girls Active’ group had an enjoyable day in Gartan on Tuesday, where they spent the day doing various activities, such as wall climbing and canoeing. This was a reward for their hard work in the ‘Girls Active’ programme. The programme aims to encourage young girls to participate in exercise and enjoy being active.

A group of TY students who completed the Disability & Development Awareness Workshop as part of their Social Education Class.

This workshop took place over two weeks and was delivered by Jennifer Doherty from the Donegal Centre for Independent Living.

Deele College Notes 21st March 2014

The school’s annual Ceili Mor was held last week in the school gym and it was a great success. The entire school community took part in the event, which was a celebration of Irish language and culture. Well done to all the organisers and the participants.

This year’s junior FA Cup ended in scintillating fashion, with Cody Brogan’s Man City taking the title with an epic 7-0 victory over Bryan McNamee’s Chelsea. This is the first year that a tournament has been held for the first and second year students and it turned out to be a great success. Chief organiser, Mr Michael Gallagher now has his sights set on the senior competition, where 3rd, 4th and 5th year students will battle it out for supremacy.

FA Cup Final at Deele College

This year’s junior FA Cup ended in scintillating fashion, with Cody Brogan’s Man City taking the title with an epic 7-0 victory over Bryan McNamee’s Chelsea.

Some superb goals from St Johnston’s Ryan Higgins set the ball rolling for the winning team, while DJ Kelly showed his killer instinct in front of goal. Bryan McNamee tried his best to rally his men at half-time but the second half continued in the same fashion with Cody Brogan and Ryan Higgins adding further goals.
