Everest hero to visit Deele College

Deele College will welcome Jason Black to the school this Friday, where he will give a talk to the senior students about motivation and following dreams.

Mr Black, who last year became the first Donegal person to scale the heights of the daunting Mount Everest, will talk to students about his epic adventure and how he managed to summit the world’s highest peak.
A prominent businessman in Letterkenny, Jason is an ideal role model for students, as he not only runs a successful business empire, incorporating Voodoo nightclub and Black’s Centra, he is also known in sporting circles for his time with Letterkenny Rugby Club.

New Extension for Deele College approved

There was one school in Donegal celebrating this week, with the announcement of the Department of Education’s budget allocation for 2014 by the Minister for Education and Skills Ruairí Quinn TD. (on friday 29th of November 2013)

Deele College in Raphoe is the only school in Donegal to be approved for an extension and refurbishment, which is to commence in early 2014. It is hoped that it will be completed to coincide with the school’s 50th anniversary.
