Fifth year student Brett McGinty came back to Deele College this week to a hero’s welcome, after his stunning performances in the Commonwealth games, where the St Johnston man earned a silver medal.

As part of ‘active week’ the school hosted a ‘fitness boot camp’ in the school’s sports-hall on Thursday for all school students. The aim of the day was to promote exercise and a healthy lifestyle to our students, through enjoyable exercise. The event was a real success and we would like to thank all of the students who took part.
Best of luck to the U-19 School Soccer team and Mr. Gallagher who participate in the All Ireland Semi Final in the Shoowgrounds in Sligo tomorrow at 1pm.

A Declan Sharkey goal thirteen minutes from time sealed a momentous Ulster Cup victory for Deele College, the second in their history.

After a tremendous performance against St Eunan’s, Deele had their place booked in the cup final. With a 3-1 victory against a strong Eunan’s team. (Ronan Kelly)
