It was a busy week for exam students this week in the school with the engineering and woodwork practical exams taking place throughout the week. Both exams went well and it will give students extra confidence going into the Leaving Cert.

A big congratulations to the ‘Junk Kouture’ students in the school who represented the school last Friday at the national award ceremony in Dublin. The school had two dresses in the final. Both ‘Uptown Junk’ and ‘Vintage Pearl’ wowed the judges with their creations. Well done to all the art students who took part. This was a great achievement for the group and for the school.

As part of ‘active week’ the school hosted a ‘fitness boot camp’ in the school’s sports-hall on Thursday for all school students. The aim of the day was to promote exercise and a healthy lifestyle to our students, through enjoyable exercise. The event was a real success and we would like to thank all of the students who took part.

Our Athletics team made the short journey to the Finn Valley Centre for the Donegal ETB Track and Field Finals. Aine Kerr took two gold medals in both the Long Jump and the High Jump, while Bryan McNamee took an impressive silver in the 800m race. Brendan McAneny captured bronze in the U-16 Long Jump and Shot Putt and first year student, Jack O’Donnell showed his class to secure a silver medal in the 800m. Well done to all who took part and to the medal winners, who did the school proud.
