Deele College Raphoe

Six Transition Year students from Deele College Raphoe have secured a coveted place in the 2011 Grand Final of “Junk Kouture Recycled Fashion Show”. The event takes place in the Burlington Hotel in Ballsbridge Dublin on Sunday 17th of April. It will be hosted by TV3 Ireland AM’s Noel Cunningham.

The successful students are Megan Tinney, Ciara Gallagher, Fiona Allan, Lauren McGee, James Rankin and Annie-Rose Quinn who are guided by teacher Mrs Patrice Gallagher. The title of their project is ‘Annie in Wonderland’. The outfit was totally recycled using newspapers made into papier mache, tea-bags, old underskirts, bubble wrap and plastic flowers. Their long hours and dedication to the project  has certainly paid off and with a little luck they might even think about forging out careers in the fashion industry as a result.
