‘The Real Deele’ Yearbook
This year the Transition Year students have taken on a project that has not been attempted in the school before; a school yearbook. The planning started back in September with guidance from Mrs Annette Cunningham. We started small; voting for the name and co-ordinators. It was decided that the name would be ‘The Real Deele’ and the three co-ordinators were Antoin Sharkey, Grace Mc Glinchey and Shannon Strain.

As we had no experience with making a yearbook we called in the professional; Liam Porter. He informed us of all of the work involved, (which we had completely underestimated), answered all of our questions and gave us professional advice.

For the next few months everybody was busy doing their jobs which included: Writing articles, getting advertising, calling the printers, editing, designing the layout and doing all of our own photography.
As work experience the three co-ordinators had the opportunity to work with Liam Porter to design the layout. With his expertise they learnt how to use the programs on the computer and design the pages and by the end of the week they had almost finished the yearbook.

After all the finishing touches were made the finished product was sent to the printers. And finally, after a few hiccups the first yearbook ever published in Deele College is on produced. ‘The Real Deele’ is currently on sale in the school and Mace shop for €8 and we would encourage you to buy this historic publication.
